DR. JERRY HIURA
Dr. Jerrold Hiura was born in Chicago, Illinios but has lived in the Bay Area since the age of 7. After graduating from Willow Glen High School, San Jose, he attended the University of California at Berkeley, graduating with a BS in Biology and a BS in Physiologic Optics. Following graduate work at Harvard, he went on to complete his DDS from Washington University School of Dental Medicine in 1976. He joined his father's practice soon after in Japantown, San Jose. In 2008, he moved across the street to a completely renovated and expanded office space.
Dr. Hiura's treatment philosophy begins and ends with preventative care. "Motivating patients to high levels of tissue management which preserves support for the teeth is key to successful treatment." He comes from a family of 16 dentists who are, or were at one time, practicing in the Bay area. He is a member of the ADA, CDA and SCCDS. Dr. Hiura also serves as an advisor on dental legislation to Assembly member Paul Fong.
Active in the arts community, Dr. Hiura served as the Chair of the City of San Jose's Arts Commission and was President of the Arts Council of Silicon Valley. In 2002, he was appointed by Governor Gray Davis to the California State Arts Council where he served as Vice Chair. He is also the co-founder of the Contemporary Asian Theater Scene (CATS) and the Japantown Community Congress of San Jose (JCC). He is also a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum of Silicon Valley.
Dr. Hiura lives in Los Gatos with his wife and has four grandkids. He enjoys hiking, painting, traveling, golf and continues a deep involvement in the Japantown and arts communities.
DR. STEPHANI UENO
Dr. Stephani Ueno is originally from the Pacific Northwest and attended the University of Washington, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Psychology. She earned her DMD from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, scoring honors in her National Boards. She is a member of the Spears Study Club, ADA, CDA, and SCCDS.
In her free time, Dr. Ueno enjoys spending time with her husband, three kids, and adopted shih tzu, as well as traveling. Her favorite place so far has been to Italy for its colorful history, phenomenal food, and amazing vino.
DR. SEAN LIN
Dr. Sean Lin is a board-certified practitioner with a holistic approach to oral health. Dr. Sean is a strong believer that no individual is the same, and therefore no treatment is the same. He personalizes each patient's treatment to their exact needs so that he can provide the highest quality of dental work to improve both patient's oral health and overall well-being. Dr. Sean takes great pride in his honest and ability to keep his patients comfortable.
Dr. Sean is a native of the Bay Area. He graduated from Mission San Jose High School (Fremont), UC Berkeley, and UC San Francisco before relocating to Fresno where he worked at Community Regional Medical Center and Veteran's Affairs managing complicated dental treatments. In his spare time, Dr. Sean enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
DR. MARK WATANABE
Dr. Mark Watanabe is originally from Southern California, but has been living in the Bay Area since 2013. He graduated with a BS from UC Irvine and later earned his DDS from the UC San Francisco School of Dentistry. After completing his residency at the Veteran's Affairs Mare Island, Dr. Watanabe chose to stay in Northern California and continue to provide excellent dental care in the Bay Area.
Dr. Watanabe has played basketball his entire life and continues to play in adult leagues. He also enjoys lifting weights, hiking, and spending time with his friends and family.
